Collaborative Learning Experiences in a Changing Environment: Innovative Educational Approaches in Architecture

The sense of uncertainty and fragility due to the effects magnitude global challenges we are facing (from circumstances pandemic impacts climate change) requires—much more than in past—the capacity generate a visionary forefront design approach young generation, with an aim stimulate their reaction attitude rather providing consolidated tools from past conditions that no longer exist or will rapidly evolve. Within this general framework, have investigated effectiveness experienced-based methods learning innovative educational architecture aimed at shaping expertise addresses aspects environment change context socio-cultural dynamics, real potentialities constraints, transdisciplinary trajectories. We analyzed five international pioneering teaching experiences provided opportunity understand outcomes collaborative experiential processes by which activities leverage dialogue between diverse communities (including academia, citizens, policymakers, practitioners). study show shifting pedagogical paradigm towards experience-based models can improve awareness future practitioners for implications architectural design, implement analysis project skills, trigger knowledge transfer co-production community level. Experience-based also allow them better address societal cultural issues involved decision making.
